Default Where Have You Been All My Life!!!!!

So today I got to break in a Ruger SP101 2.25". I have to say that I have not been a fan of revolvers, but this revolver has completely changed me into a believer.

It has a crisp trigger that I imagine will only smooth out after more usage but I can not say that I don't like anything about this revolver. It is beautifully crafted, all steel and its a Ruger. I have to say Ruger is awesome. Can't say that I shot it very well, my buddy did so well, so it is obviously me. Only more practice and a few classes will help out hopefully.

I shot Mastercast reloads, 158 gr .357 and 158 gr .38 swc. All went through flawlessly and had zero problems. Recoil wasn't bad at all, though the .357 weren't really full loads so I'll have to try out other ammo.

To some the only downside would be that it is a brick, but I love heavy guns so it doesn't bother me one bit. Eventually this will be my carry gun after I break it in a little more, but right now I am impressed. I am sold on revolvers also. So all in all a wonderful day, don't get too many of them.

Sorry if you were expecting a better range report. More of a happy rant from another satisfied Ruger fan. I've see a few people thinking about the SP101, and all I can say is that Ruger makes a great product. Give it a thought and go to a shop to see how it feels in your hands. It would not be a bad purchase.

Sounds like a great new toy/tool. Did you get it new or used? And, if I may ask, what did you pay?

Sorry no pics. But I got it New at Bravermans. I believe it was 469/489, but I had a trade that knocked it down quite a bit. So it was worth it and the wallet isn't hurting right now. I was going to hold off for the laser grips but I'll just wait on them. Should be a nice addition. Now I just need to get a nice holster. Would like to do ankle carry, so hopefully i can find a good setup for that.

Ruger makes nice play things. Try it with some .38 SPL +P loads.

You will enjoy it, because it is a bit of a brick, it will not kick as much as some of the light CC guns.. The trigger will get better the more rounds you put through it. Because it's new, keep it very clean and well oiled. Once it gets broken in, it will nice.

Got one, love it! Just gets better the more you shoot it. So practice practice practice!
What more can I say? Oh yeah, enjoy and be safe.

Another happy convert to the ways of the wheel gun. If you think the SP 101 is awesome, wait until you shoot some of the performance center Smith and Wesson revolvers.

Nice. I see you're going to carry it. OC or CC? Is that why you didn't go with the 3 1/16" bbl? The 3 would be a bit more enjoyable at the range, but more of a hassle CCing.

When I got my 38 snubby - it came down to that or an SP-101. Now, I'm sort of wishing I'd gone with the latter. Hmmm. I've never carried an SP though... might be too printable and annoying - I'm not a big guy.
