mauser 98
just bought an old 7mm mauser 98 the saftey catch is very tight i believe because the firing pin spring is too strong(im not sure), how can i remedy this situation. i appreciate any help.

Fritz,
My first high powered rifle was a Spanish 7mm Mauser.
The problem with mine was not the spring but a high or rough spot on the safety lever. I took a small fine file and took off the edge and it works OK now.
Welcome to the forum. I just sent this site link to a friend of mine. Did you by chance just recently buy a Glock 19 and does my user name mean anything to you?

thanks 27hand I took the dremel to the safety latch and it works fine now..
