    Default SIG-Sauer P220 Sights: Different?

Of the 4 pistols I've owned, the sights on the P220 are different, and I'm not sure what to make of them, or how the gun should be sighted (as compared to the 3 dot sights I'm accustomed to). Mechanically, yes, the sights are similar, but I'm thrown by the single rear dot. The photo below isn't the best, but hopefully, it's decent enough to show what I'm talking about. As a still novice shooter, my question really comes down to: What am I supposed to do with the rear dot, with respect to the front sight dot?

Ignore the rear bar, the front sight is all that matters. It really is that simple. I have had my 220 since 1994 and it is one hell of a shooter. Focus on the front sight and squeeze away.

    Thanks for the immediate response!
I guess I'm tending to over-think it, thinking I should be taking into account front to rear angle/tilt, etc. Gotta get back out to the range and take you advice! Thanks again.

Those are the standard Sig sights. They call them "contrast" sights.
Some people call them bar / dot sights for obvious reasons.

Try "Dotting" the I, ie: (i), that is the way the sight system was
designed to work. I have used it and adjusted the placement of the
"dot" from the top white bar on the rear site. Took a little getting
used to, but became instataneous. Remember it is designed to place
a round on a target 11 x 23 inches at 25 yards for combat sights.

Thank you. I'll try that on the very next trip to the range. I'm sure I'll get it sorted out, and enjoy doing so.

Just got back from the range, finding I shot with significantly better accuracy doing exactly that. Thank you.
