No I am not five years old, yet I did not think this was a serious posting where my grasp of the english language would be scrutinized. I was just wanting to have a casual conversation.

Google David Olofson - that will tell you all you need to know. I'm not doing anymore leg work for ya .

I don't think so... As each trigger pull only fires one bullet... Bump firing is just the poor mans full auto... And it's highly inaccurate... But ammo is getting pretty cheap lol

I once rented a gun that double tapped more than once. When I told the range about they said it happens sometimes when the guns get worn, and they just have it repaired.

It was an ar15 style in 9 mm. I think a colt.

I would have it fixed by a gunsmith. Then if for some reason you do get prosecuted for when it happened, or if it happens again. It looks a lot better than if you kept it in current form. Keep records of this of course.

The case everyone is mentioning is more complicated than it sounds. The guy's gun had probably malfunctioned in the past, and he lent it to a friend un-repaired (allegedly telling him the 3rd position on the selector was for automatic firing, although this could have been joking or such).

They got him for "transferring an unregistered machine gun" which is a lot different than owning a weapon that malfunctioned also.
