Hi Everyone:

Does anyone know if Erie County or PA in general requires that a CCW Class be completed as part of the appilcation process? If yes, does this have to happen prior to filling out the appilcation?

No class. Fill out your app and hand it in.

PA has a LTCF (License to Carry Firearms) not a CCW

You do NOT have to conceal once getting it

Search the Forum for LTCF and/or License to Carry Firearms. Particularly the Erie subforums for specifics to your county.

There is no CCW in PA. It is a LTCF. And no, there is no class needed. Fill out the application and pass the background check.

Are you asking as an Ohio resident? Or as someone who will be moving to Erie County, PA?

An out of state resident can get a PA License to Carry from any county, provided that they have a similar license/permit from their home state...if that state does issue them.

That said, some PA counties, by their own rules, will not issue a non resident license.
Centre County PA will and is the best choice for a non resident...all done thru the mail.

There is no training requirement in PA to acquire a LTCF. ( License To Carry a Firearm). Any county that would require it is going against state law and could be subject to legal difficulties.

The process in Erie County is rather painless. Good group of folks at the court house handling the applications.

Hi, I am an Ohio resident and I got my PA license from Centre county through the mail. It was so easy and I travel to western PA alot to visit family and go hunting. (I love Slippery Rock, my home away from home!)

Anyhow, my question is that I lost the small square paper license that Centre county sent me in the mail. I don't know if I need to carry that license with me anytime I am in PA or if carrying that license is mandatory if I have a gun with me while in PA.

How would I go about getting a replacement license for the one I misplaced?
