Default $ and advice for upper - pencil, 1/7, chrome, flattop

I'm looking to get a new upper and want to find something reliable at a decent price. Upper may be used for SD. It will ride on an M16 (not for SD) or a regular lower, not SBR. Here is what I need:

    - Upper complete (or separate BCG OK)
    - Collapsible stock

Here are the specs I desire:

    - Flat top. Don't care if it has A2 front sight gas block or not.
    - 14.5" (if PWS FSC pinned/welded will take it to 16") or 16".
    - Pencil barrel
    - Chrome lined
    - 1/7 twist
    - no rails, just shielded handgaurds
    - midlength gas system "curious," might consider
    - FA BCG - thinking of buying a Colt bolt and using a aftermarket carrier to keep prices low.

Where can I get something like this that won't piss me off (must be reliable) at the best price?

    Thanks!

I'd go with a 16" BCM middy light weight.

    Scroll down to the bottom.

You can get any BCG, charging handle, hand guards from them too.

However, they don't have any of the non railed forends in stock right now. You can get on the email notice list for when they get them in again. If you do that, buy as soon as you get the email or you won't get one.

EDIT - Collapsible stocks do not come with the upper (i'm sure you knew this though ) - but you can buy any one you want from bravo co.

Beat by a few minutes - oh, while i agree with bcm, your link is for a standard barrel not a pencil / light weight.

Right, understood. My point was that the only complete uppers (light weight) that bravo has in stock right now has railed forends. Thus, the price for railed is $699 and the price for non railed and no handguards is $435. So, it'd cost him $250 more. So, he'd need to wait for the non railed uppers to get in stock. It wasn't finding midlength hand guards that was the problem.

Bravo and G and R tactical ( http://www.gandrtactical.com/cgi-bin...i?display=home ) are great places to look.

I would definitely consider the BCM uppers. Great products.

(These would need BCGs, CH, and HGs), They are M4s too but you get the idea

Not sure if you're willing to build if yourself or not but Centruion Arms has absolute bangin' barrels and they can custom build exactly what you would want too.

Check them out here, might be a little spendy but DEF worth the money
