But what seems to be escaping you is that the actions and attitude you have voiced simply helps add to the idea that the police have " the right " to do that, which they dont. Your re enforcing negative behavior, willingly or not.

We the People are the sovereign. We have all the rights and the gov. has certain powers granted to it by the state or federal constitutions. The LEO is a agent of said government. He cannot have powers bestowed upon him the government does not have.

Ps. The government is supposed to fear the people not the other way around.

Now imagine how bad a day that could be if I get pulled over for something, get asked "any weapons in the car", and then get cuffed and stuffed by an officer confused about the exceptions in 18 Pa.C.S. § 6106.

I have to keep reminding myself that pursuing the LTCF issues in my county, and delaying my application for one as a result, is all for the greater good.

If I ever need a high blood pressure pill then the world's probably coming to an end. It's routine for me to have to get my blood pressure re-checked when donating because it is, normally, on the very very low end of the healthy range. But, I digress, we're getting off topic and I don't want a week's vacation.
I think that you should hold out longer on your LTCF...

I'm a LEO. I pulled you over and, until I saw that you were legally carrying a firearm, I felt safe. Now that I know you passed the legal requirement to conceal carry, I feel that you are a threat. If you had been anyone else, I would have felt much safer, even if you were a drug dealer/rapist/murderer carrying illegally. It's a good thing that I saw that card in your wallet to let me know that you are a responsible gun owner.

This sounds like another case of intimidation to get us to disarm ourselves. I have to say that I can understand the concern of the LEO involved, but I think that my rights overpower his concern. Apparently, LEOs need better training, then they might feel more comfortable in dealing with law abiding citizens. If this TOOL feels unsafe with the possibility of personal harm, then he should find another job. I guess that all of us who have taken the time to get our LTCF are the criminals. Not the lowlifes who buy guns illegally and keep them tucked in their sweatpants.

One more instance of being harrassed for doing the right thing.

I agree with this. LEOs have a tough job. My friend was a LEO in MD for a while. He hated it. He patrolled Section 8 housing. The day that he had to shoot a 14 yo kid in the face with a bean bag round for shooting at him and his partner while on patrol, that was the day he quit. The kid ran out of the house shooting into their car. If they hadn't had body armor, they would have both been seriously injured.

But, the fact that they have a dangerous job doesn't give them the automatic freedom to take our rights on a whim.

While it might not be the most dangerous work, according to this, they are three and a half times more likely to be murdered or killed in an accident. That'll meet my definition of dangerous work.

I don't see cops as the problem. I see unjust laws as the problem. I know that there are bad cops out there, but most of the LEO's that I know or have met have been decent persons. Treat them as people and more than likely they'll treat you as one too!

The right? No, no, no, no. If you feel your rights are being trampled on by being disarmed, by all means I encourage you to do something about it. All I said was I would rather avoid the conflict altogether.
