This is a good step fo VA, but it's an example of a common problem with laws these days. Instead of just repealing a dumb law they alter it.

Well, I guess it is a step in the right direction. Whether it is baby steps or not, at least they are attempting to move forward...

The environment out there is very different than it was decades ago when PA's laws were written. With the Bradys and VPC nutcases spewing their fabricated "facts," it is unlikely that any new law would not forbid drinking and carrying. We know from experience that it's not an issue, but it's a tough sell out there. The alternative is to "hang tough" and probably lose it all.

This just calls attention to the ridiculous logic that gets applied in gun law.

Ok, so let me make sure I understand this correctly. This new law states that as of the 1st I have been allowed to go into a restaurant that sells adult beverages carrying concealed, but I am not allowed to have said adult beverage unless I am carrying open?
