    Default SKS Bayonets

I just bought a Chinese SKS on consignment from Shyda's but it is missing the bayonet. Does anyone know of a good website where I could pick one up. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

be aware that adding a bayonet to a chinese SKS would be a violation of 922(r) imported parts count regulations.

the old russian and the current crop of SKS that are imported WITH bayonets are C&R, and they dotn fall under the same regulations.

The SKS that uses a spike bayo with have a notch cut in the lower HG ferrule that is in the shape of a U.

Wile the SKS that was made for a blade bayo will have a notch cut in the shape of a V.

Accordingly the groove cut in the underside of the wood stock will also be different for a spike vs a blade.

BTW ... Mr. JayBell makes an excellent point on adding a bayo to a Chinses SKS.
Might I add that you simply purchase the correct bayo in case the law concerning these is ever relaxed in the future.

Some people took the bayonets off of their rifles even though it was legal so it might not be bad to put it back.

I don't want to encourage anything illegal, but in the absence of a dated import stamp on the barrel, and the fact that in the 80's - billions and billions and billions and billions of CHICOM SKS were sold in the USA with bayos attached - I wouldn't sweat having a bayo attached.

Get real; think how many times these CHICOM SKS changed hands since 1988?

But that's just me, just bought it from a gun-show walker...
