    If a firearm was transferred unlawfully 2 years ago, you don't un-do the offense by doing another unlawful transfer back to the husband. You just hide some of the evidence that way, with further unlawful conduct.

    On the other hand, it may be too late to prosecute the 1st transfer. A new transfer would start the clock over again.

    You'd really need to hire a lawyer and discuss all the details before doing anything. There are state and federal issues which may apply. If either party goes to the police or the courts, odds are the gun is contraband and will be seized.

    I inherited a handgun from a brother-in-law, not specified in a document (will) but by known wishes. Executor transferred it to me through an FFL. I noticed on the PA form a question "subject to tax?" and the FFL had written yes. Never heard a thing from the Commonwealth regarding the tax. Wondering what's up with that?

    As for contraband under the discussed situation, wouldn't it be nice to revert back to "possession is nine tenths of the law"? (Rhetorical).
