Tom Corbett is just another big gov. republican! He helped push the home improvement contractor registration and all the rules that came with it.

You can keep waiting, since Ohio won't enter a reciprocity agreement with a state that doesn't require firearm training. The only way that Corbett would be able to get reciprocity with Ohio is by requiring firearm training in order to get a PA LTCF. I don't think that that will sit too well with members here. It's easier to just get a FL or UT permit.

Re: "The registry"
Just because the a judge said that the database was allowed to continue on in its existence where someone challenged the PSP maintaining it doesn't mean that the issue of use as a registry is foreclosed. Treating databases as ownership registries for purpose of claiming an unregistered gun can be confiscated until ownership is proved definitely gives standing for a suit, as well does telling a felon he's going to jail unless he turns over all the weapons on 'the list'. People should be bringing suit when these abuses occur. They are not the PSP maintaining a registry. They are people using the database as an ownership registry, separately offensive and not precluded by the court's finding in the ACSL case.

Bold is mine
If you have an extra $50,000.00-$100,000.00 to give me for a good lawyer I would be glad to bring suit. Remember when you bring suit in something they are going to be fighting you with your tax money so they have an almost unlimited supply of money and time, not to mention the liers I mean lawyers

Re: "The registry"
Mr. 1 of the 3%, such is the crux. Is there any justice that you think is worth 50k-100k?
Or is it true that a 60 dollar filing fee is in fact 12/10000ths of 50k? The courts aren't closed yet. What we should be doing is seeking redress, such that we deserve, and when denied by tyrants, add that to our lists, for
...when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism...
So while we've been trained in the ideas of the dollar and a formidable establishment, the more simplistic system of justness still lies (for now, sort of). Have you seen liberty in all your years, and will you see it in your short life, Ed, if you wait for 50k-100k apparently required to fight some battle?
The point is that when we say we won't do anything about our injury, it is simply the acquiescence that says 'this is what we will settle for', and we have settled for so many things. What else could it be saying?

School Law Clinics Face a Backlash
By IAN URBINA
Published: April 3, 2010
ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Law school students nationwide are facing growing attacks in the courts and legislatures as legal clinics at the schools increasingly take on powerful interests that few other nonprofit groups have the resources to challenge.
On Friday, lawmakers here debated a measure to cut money for the University of Maryland’s law clinic if it does not provide details to the legislature about its clients, finances and cases.
. . .
Law clinics at other universities — from New Jersey to Michigan to Louisiana — are facing similar challenges. And legal experts say the attacks jeopardize the work of the clinics, which not only train students with hands-on courtroom experience at more than 200 law schools but also have taken on more cases against companies and government agencies in recent years.
. . .
Back in Maryland, Rena Steinzor, a law professor at the University of Maryland and a former director of the environmental law clinic there, rejected the idea that law clinics in her state or elsewhere were trying to harm industry. “The clinics represent people or groups that can’t otherwise afford lawyers and by definition, this work often puts the clinics on the opposite side of the government or powerful interests,” she said.

Maybe there is your 50k.

Re: "The registry"
Remember, in order for me to be harmed, I must put myself in the position to be harmed. This will not come cheap. Also if I put myself in the position to be harmed I will most likely loose my employment. This will not come in cheap
There are people on this forum that have already been harmed and are taking action of a different tact. There are also people on this forum that could have argued harm and took the expedient way out. This goes the same for the abuses of the Philadelphia Gun Licensing.
So yes, I will need to be compensated to put myself in a position to be harmed.
