Where do you carry your LTCF?

I see many people carrying it in front of their wallet, usually in the clear ID pocket instead of their license OR they carry it right behind their license. Why? Are they expecting people to be impressed? Are they expecting that the cops will say, "Hey, this guy has a gun permit, I won't give him a ticket."?

Mine is in my wallet but it is buried in one of the side pockets. No need to flash it everytime I buy a Coke at the GetGo. If I pull out my license to show a cop, he doesn't need to know that I have a carry permit. If some thug takes my wallet, it's less likely that he'll find the license and then have reason to believe that I'm armed.

So where do y'all carry your LTCFs?

In a visor organizer, above the driver's seat, separate from my DL/registration/proof of insurance.

If I'm riding with friends, I have another copy that goes in my left front pocket.

In the front of my wallet in the clear ID pocket near my driver's license.

Why?

Because that's where I choose to keep it.

Are they expecting people to be impressed?

I don't expect anyone to be impressed. Frankly, I don't care if the full size handgun on my belt impresses them either.

No, I don't expect that either.

Do you take it with you when you're on foot?

Hardly ever, even when concealing or in cooler weather when wearing a coat, though I OC the large majority of the time. In the event that I'd need to present it, it's not that far away. It's a calculated risk that I am comfortable taking.

I carry a laminated copy of mine in my wallet right behind my drivers license. The original is in the safe at home.

Well, duh! I didn't expect that it wound up there by accident. What thought processes led to the decision to have it visible?

In the event that I'd need to present it, it's not that far away.

I often wind up an hour's walk away from my car, I'd hate to have to run back to my car to get it. Then again, I'm sure the nice police officer would give a ride in the back of his car and some nice jewelry to wear as well.

DL, ATM card, LTCF, union card.....in that order. Because they are in order of use and personal importance. Credit cards are on the opposite side, in order of most used. No cash, that stays in my front pocket.
