    Default 1895 Nagant

Hey guys, I have an 1895 Nagant, and I am wondering on how to go about pricing it? Also if there is anyone interested in one?

Ps. I can post pictures a little later tonight, i'm sure that will help considerably.

The soviet versions are not worth as much as the pre-revolution models; you can pick up a good used post revolution with the full kit (including holster) for around $65-90 with a C&R license, the earlier ones can go for a few dollars more, unless they are in pristine condition.

BTW, they chamber and fire .32 mags just fine.

Here is all the info I can pull off the pistol:

Electric penciled on the right side, above the grip, is: C.A.I. 1895 Russia 762.38r
    Georgia, VT.

It has two sets of numbers on it, I would imagine one original and one from Century. The one from century has 1895 as the first 4 #

it doesn't bear any info aside from small arsenal marks, and what I *think* is the original serial, on the left side

Maybe you could suggest something in specific to look for?

I have heard a lot back and forth on that, I have never fired anything but seven rounds of the original ammo through this pistol.

Yea...that is what I thought, but alas, where I should be seeing a year or some sort of distinguishing mark, there is none.

I have been looking for one of these at gun shows for a year now. Great little revolver, for being over a century old. Has a gas seal, not very common if I understand correctly. I'll give ya a 50 spot for it

Can use 0.32 S&W, 0.32 S&W Long and 0,32 S&W Mag. Or reload using 32-20 cases and 0.311-0.313 heads. Though if you go teh reload route, check that the rim size allows the cylinder to both move forward and release. There is also a 0.32 ACP cylinder that usually requires some work on the rachet. I have two, the regular 1895 and the target model. With a C&R, under a $100 with all accutrements. Dave_n

being that the year and any government markings it should have, have been wiped....i'd take that 50clam offer.

i have one from 1917, think i paid 80 for it.
it's only metal, we can out think it....
