PA LTCF Questions - newbie

Instructions also say that you need to show cause. I thought PA is a shall issue state.

Where do you see that? Yes PA is a shall issue state.

ETA Nevermind I saw it, you don't need to show cause. Just fill out the application drop it off.

It reads as if I have to prove a deranged ax murderer is after myself and my family to get an LTCF. But seriously, the fact that you are applying for one means you want one so there must be more.

I think you're reading way more into it than there is, if you want a license go apply, if you don't, well, then don't.

PA is one of the easiest states to get a LTCF or CCW or CPL or whatever other states call theirs.

No training required, no fingerprints required (except Philly

) and PA is a "shall issue" state.

No proof of axe murderers, deranged or otherwise, required

Correct. Just fill in the bubble for self defense and or target shooting, or whatever bubble applies best to you.

Actually, marking "self defense" is recommended no matter what your other reasons may be.

That covers you in all situations. Target shooting, gun collecting, etc.

Say you're asked to show your LTCF to police in a reciprocal state while carrying. They see target shooting (or one of the other reasons) on there and they may think it is restricted to that situation only.

Could jam you up for a while.
