That's complete HORSESHIT! (sorry) Nothing of value my ass (sorry again but this pisses me off)! I realize the issue isn't the cop, it's the scumbag who committed the crime. However, it's a crime wether or not anything was taken! In PA it's called an Inchoate Crime, or an attempted crime which carries the same penalty. Also, threatening to kill somebody is an assault...ESPECIALLY if they held what was believed to be a gun to the victims head! Aggravated or Simple...it's still an assault. This poor citizen was victimized and the cop was too damn lazy to do anything. Yeah chances are that nobody would ever be caught but it is your obligation to the victim and the public to TRY!!!! Sorry for the rant but this disgusts me. This kind of crap attitude is why so many have a poor opinion of the police.
