Default Need gunsmith to pull unfired round from AR

I have a 308 round 3/4 stuck in the chamber. I pulled back so hard (with a rubber mallet on latch) the bolt round off the rim of the case.

This is why I need a gunsmith. Preferrable one with a hydralic jack to reverse the bullet out easily. If I have to I will drive this puppy out to them/you. I called (2) gunsmith in the fayette Co. area and they do not have the tools to pop this puppy out only with bolt actions??

    Thanks for your help.

You would ship a rifle with a live round in it?

Did the bolt remove the entire rear of the cartridge and primer, allowing all the powder to fall out? Or is this a small bomb that you want to ship somewhere?

You could try a wooden dowel and a mallet.

I used an M16 cleaning rod and a brass hammer to drive a squib round out of an M4 a couple of years ago. (I would have used a wooden dowel if it were my rifle)

You might be able to save yourself a couple bucks not have to ship your rifle anywhere. (I don't like handing my guns over to someone else, where I can not control them)

I can pull out my card and order as many boxes of "small bombs" as I want off the internets. Shipped right to my door. Hell, i can order them by the crate if i wanted to.

    How is this any different?

Before this gets off topic I changed my wording to "drive".

Yes, I would. With it shipped correctly it's legal. Hell, they ship missles in wooden crates all the time and no BOOM!

I wish, for I would not be looking for a gunsmith.

I did but this is a HPBT. It's like driving a axe in the middle of the wood...It splits!

I'm desperate and need a solution.

    ANY GUNSMITH OUT THERE????

Is the bolt stuck at that location? If so, 'mortar' it. Collapse your stock all the way, grabbing the charging handle and over solid ground, slam the end of the stock straight on the ground while pulling on the charging handle. That will free up your bcg if it is stuck where the picture shows. That might pop the round loose also.

Ha, this post gives me fond memories of watching lycanthrope slam Danp's FA M-16 off the ground repeatedly. A gun that's worth more than any car I've ever owned

I read that as well. Sooo, Since I have a Magpul PRS stock ($200.00 stock) @ the time I used a rubber mallet. On one side of the charging handle my middle finger was on the left side. I used the mallet on the right side of the latch. After a few hard wacks the bolt sliped off the casing. I still have my A2 stock that I will crush in the ground if it comes down to it.

Again, as the other professional gunsmiths said to me over the phone. zFind someone that has a port a power and a solid 3/16 rod and slowily push from the bullet end back out.

I mean wacking from the muzzle is just as likey to set a spark as from the primer end.
