    Default New member...New gun...

Hey everyone! I'm a new member here from Cranberry Twp. near Pittsburgh. Just wanted to introduce myself. I normally hit the range at the State Game Lands (I know I've heard the horror stories too but I've never really had a bad experience there). Thanks for reading and here's a little gun porn for your viewing pleasure...

Springfield Armory Bi-Tone XDm-40 3.8. I'm getting started reloading my own target ammo and for personal defense I run with Federal 180gr HST JHP's.

Dunno if I'll be able to make that. But I'd be interested in going to a few in the future!

Hi there and welcome, I carry a xd 4 inch 9mm service model. I also have a blackhawk serpa sportser holster coming in the mail and I keep a trl-1 tac light at home for home defense. I also usually go to the game lands and have experienced the horror there but most people are safe.

yea personally I wouldn't stand for it. I'd walk right up to whomever was being unsafe and lets just say I'd educate them. I've been around guns my entire life and I was taught at a very young age how to handle them. Personally i think it's something that every parent should teach their kids regardless of ther feelings about guns. Who knows what your kid can get into at a friend's house...

I did educate this gun owner the rules of the range. He fired at his target when we all (including him and his buddy) yelled clear and yet he continued to fire at his target (we were located at the shorter range with handguns) while someone was recovering their target at the rifle part of the range. Meanless to say I had a fit and the guy apoloigized and then left.

yea he probably was embarrassed. I don't know the whole situation but I can see how if there was still a guy all the way down at the 100 yrd section standing by his target and someone was at the 10 yrd section you might not be able to see him. That said he should have waited the everyone yells "clear" again...

A Glock 23 was on my short list when I went out looking. It came down to the XDm-40 3.8, the Glock 23, and the Sig P250. When it was all said and ddone the XDm just felt more comfortable in my hand. The angle of the grip on the Glock didn't feel right to me and I didn't like the partially supported chamber in the G23. Some say it's not a big deal but I'm a reloader and you can't reload with an unsupported chamber...

I agree and I taught my daughter the ins and outs of guns as well as to tell her that if a gun comes out "COME HOME!" She knows to expect ALL guns to be loaded until she personally clears/checks it.

I like you signature line btw.

    Welcome to the forum,

    Sid
