Default Red Dot for Ruger MKIII

I'm looking for a red dot of some type for my MKIII. I'm not really looking for anything serious, just a little something to make plinking sessions more interesting. I'm also looking on the cheap end of the scale. Any advice would be greatly apprectiated.

Since it's only going on a 22LR, you don't need something too serious, but I wouldn't go "cheap" You will end up buying another one since those companies will not warranty your optic.

Least expensive red dot I'd recommend is the Primary Arms T1 clone. You can get them for roughly $70. You should also look at ADCO or Ultradots since many bullseye shooters use those dots.

If you can swing $200 get the Vortex SPARC. It's a T1 clone as well, but Vortex carries a lifetime warranty.

You have seen the photo of my MKIII with the Ultradot on it. It cost around $200. (it was a great Christmas present) Some of the guys that shoot with me use Bushnells etc...and have not had any problems with them.

I would love to get an Ultradot, but I just can't justify spending more than $100 on an optic that's just for plinking. For 200 bucks I'd probably buy another used Kel Tec. I can't stop buying those things...

I picked up an Osprey holographic sight for mine at the last gun show in Greencastle. I thought for $40 what the heck. I really like it and so does my Grandson.

I would go with the lightest one you can find since its on a pistol. Matt's shooting supplies has some light red dots if your located in NEPA
