Re: Mountain lions in Pa?
I'm not in agreement that because we have coyotes here the PGC released them.
There is zero proof to sustain a conclusion like that AND it doesn't make sense. As I posted prior, it would be against the PGC interests.
If you did in fact see a wolf, same argument. Why must the PGC have put it here?
As for the coyote problem. I'm trying! I ramped up my predator gear/tactics this year. I just haven't had time to go yet
Looking forward to dispatching a few of the dreaded vermin

Re: Mountain lions in Pa?
Oh, No no no.
I should have reworded that.
Fact: I saw a wolf.
Fact: PGC does do things without public knowledge.
I wasn't insinuating the PGC put the wolf there.
People do have permits to raise them, it could have escaped, that is where I figured it came from.

They def. did let those coyotes go here, person I talked to this morning didn't know where they came from though.

Got ya. With all the talk (hearsay) about the PGC releasing cats, coyotes, etc I incorrectly ASSumed you were speaking from that same angle.

Re: Mountain lions in Pa?
I wonder if those that were released made it as far as here in UC
Yesterday, right on 6 minute and a half from my house, a dead one.
I actually got out of the car to make sure it wasn't a wounded dog, it was a dead coyote.
From what I understand (Have heard) here in UC they're here and have been for a while.

Re: Mountain lions in Pa?
Yes Michele there are coyotes everywhere around here.
I've heard that for every one you see there are fifty you don't.
At my property in Waterford we have seen countless coyotes.
The guy down the road has been wacking them left & right because they got after his chickens & even found evidence on one of his cows.
I questioned that one too because I didn't think coyotes would go after anything that big...but he showed me the one leg on his cow all tore up.
