I too am looking for a nice, clean, respectable club - I don't care about the membership dues so long as they are good people, clean grounds and not overly crowded. I typically shoot pistol and am getting more into trap, so a place to practice those two without a huge audience would be ideal.

Any suggestions (other than the 4 mentioned above)? The closest I can find with trap is Keystone R&C., otherwise Stockertown would be the closest.

Pocono Slate Belt Shooting Association has a great range for trap shooting. I have never been there, but know a few people who shoot in leagues. I hear it’s clean and there aren’t any knuckle heads on the range. I don’t think you can shoot pistol at this club. Your next best bet for pistol is Belfast, which is right off of route 33.

Thank you for the response. I too have heard good things about Pocono, but they have strange hours. Not open on Sunday in the summers nor any Saturdays. Unfortunately these are he only days I can go.

Need to look into Belfast - I will definitely check that out.

Really? I've been going to Topton Fish & Game for two years and I've never had so much as a dirty look from anyone, including the club officers, and I only pay $25 a year.

You can't judge everything by it's price.

    Hi
I live next to the gun club,
    I don't shoot there but I'm always
thinking I may hunt the property
so I pay the 20 dollars.
Most of the members are from
Jersey. A lot of semi-auto action.
What I don't like is they shoot all the time during
    gun season
    They have about 400 members
    What are you looking for?

I'm not sure whether the East Bangor Rod and Gun Club is the same as the East Bangor Sportsman Association. I joined the latter this weekend and have found everyone there courteous and the facility satisfactory to plink. This range is on Bangor Vein Road and has had a bad reputation in the past from what I've heard, but recent changes to membership requirements and range policies, including the requirement to have a LTC or Background check prior to acceptance as well as rules for what you can shoot and how to maintain the range seems to have improved things. I'll take my 13 yr old son there to shoot next weekend.

They have really inproved the site, making it much safer. The club is a lot quieter these days because the of price or lack of ammo.

Sounds like the increase in dues have been put to good use.
