They didn't call my employer. Maybe because my employer is in NJ and the Sheriff has some common sense? Or is it just the new Sheriff doing this?

Why does the sheriff need to verify your employment? What’s their reasoning? If someone is unemployed will that have an effect of them gaining acceptance to a LTCF?

I got my LTCF with the new guy and didn't hear anything about a call to my (now former) employer. That job was filled with people who would have told me. They gossip quite a bit.

Well lack of patience finally won out. I called the Sheriff's Dept as to see if there was an issue with my LTCF.

I was informed that the LTCF was issued and mailed on 7 April. The person that handles returned mail was out today, so they will call me tomorrow. Sure, now that I know it is ready, do you think I will wait much past 10AM for a call.

Will be interesting to find out what happened.

Well things just got more interesting.

The Sheriffs office was supposed to call concerning if my LTCF was returned. Did not hear anything so I called again.

My call was just returned. Apparently, my LTCF was not issued as previously advised. The first guy looked at my last issue. I thanked them mentioning that I was only following up as the 45 days is only 7 days away. Oh no, I was informed. "We have 45 working days." Not to get into correcting the guy on the other side, I let it go.

However, based on being overcharged, the message on the Sheriffs phone when you call (Concealed Carry Permit) and now this, I do believe that they will be hearing from me after my LTCF is in hand. Then it is my hope that after 5 years, they forget what a PITA I was.

Oh man, that sounds like your getting worked over pretty good. What is the exact issue with the LTCF?
