Question NRA Alert- New Public Range near Scranton

This came to me two days ago from NRA. Though the WB shooters may want to know. Anybody know anything?

Pennsylvania: Help Expand Recreational Shooting Opportunities in the Scranton-Area!

    Wednesday, March 31, 2010

On Monday, April 5, at 7:00 p.m., the Ransom Township Board will allow the public to submit inquiries to a consortium which is seeking to expand a recreational shooting range in Ransom, just west of Scranton.

Ranges like this one offer a safe, controlled environment for local shooters to hone their skills as well as practice and promote safe firearm handling.

Anti-gun forces will surely mount an offensive to block this range from expanding. Please attend this meeting and voice your support for this range.

The meeting will be held at 2435 Hickory Lane , Clarks Summit, PA 18411 .

I just saw this post a few minutes ago. Does anyone know any news regarding today's meeting at 7pm?

Wow, they had a clip from the meeting on the news last night. One guy was screaming something about people not needing sniper rifles and street sweepers.

I'm curious to know what the opposition sent to residents to get them so worked up. Supposedly, it's on 600 acres, it's not like they would have any close neighbors.

    ...eagerly awaiting an in-person report.

I guess they had a meeting, and didn't get enough info from developer to form a dissenting opinion. The Scranton Times/Tribune put it's usual anti spin on the non meeting.

The comments at the end of the article are

    priceless.http://thetimes-tribune.com/news/ran...range-1.719358

    Did anyone from PAFOA attend?

Smile Re: NRA Alert- New Public Range near Scranton

If you thought the comments were amusing, you should have seen the meeting.

They had a few ignorant antis and some gun owner hunter types (the kind that do not belong to any orgs like NRA of PAFOA, but still own guns) talking lunacy.

Real hysterical non sense. Glad the owner had command of the facts but I doubt he got through to the loonies.
