Default My son's first shooting trip

I took my 10 year old son, Nick, out to the range today for the first time and let him shoot my USP Compact (9mm).

He limp wristed the first shot, and one other, causing stovepipes both times. After 25 rounds or so, he stopped flinching and actually was fairly accurate.

The most important thing is he loved it! As soon as we were done he asked when we can go again.

The target is a combination of shots from 7 yards and 25 yards.

Good going,DAD,more range time is in your future.
By the looks of that target, your son is going to be a, shooter, in no time.
I hope you took him for a ice cream cone.

Great job on teaching your son about guns. And not letting the news and hollywood do the job!!!

The next step is going to be to teach him how to clean my guns...that way I don't have to do it anymore!

    Congrats, that's great!

I recently took my adult daughter shooting for the first time. She was amazed that it wasn't anything like the movies!

Your son won't get brainwashed like most kids do!
