Question Haz-Mat shipments: is signature required?

I need some slower burning powder, Vit 3n37 or 3n38, stuff I can't get anywhere locally. I might as well pick up 5000 primers while I'm at it.

I'm just wondering if Haz-Mat shipments require a signature on delivery. I'm always at work when UPS comes around, and I don't think getting the stuff sent to me at work is a good idea.

I can't figure out the UPS policy on this one.
I got a case of ammo recently, it had the ORMD sticker on it to indicate hazardous materials. It didn't show up the day it was supposed to. I called UPS and asked about it, they said there was nobody here to accept the shipment.
The next day it was delivered and he didn't ask anyone to sign for it, he just handed it over and was on his way.

I didn't look it up but I don't recall ORMD shipments "requiring" signature by default...

However, signature (or adult sig) can be added to any shipment by the shipper as an option.

I have received ammo (ORMD) many times without sig so I would have to say no.

    Yeah, true.

So, I guess that it's not required by law, but I'd better call before I put in the order. Midway does say it's required, but nobody else does.

Outdoor Marksman sent me ammo that I HAD to sign for. I had to call UPS for another delivery attempt, and then I had to make up a couple hours of work on the weekend. I'd rather not have to repeat that.

As far as work is concerned, I just got a box, that I'm going to put in my car. Just ship it to the office.

Heck, I've had parts kits shipped here... and showed off stuff, with no hassles. then again, my company seems to have brain cells and knows how to use them when it comes down to what is just a lot of metal pieces that cant do anything without major machine work.

This is where a PMB is really handy. Not just for the signing, but also for the privacy.
