Question Church and CC in PA?

Are there any laws regarding this? The church I attend also has a school my kids attend but its all private.
Anyone have any info on this specifically?

There is no law for or against carrying a firearm in a house of worship (OC or CC), but Section 912 does address carrying at a K-12 school.

It being a private school doesn't affect anything.

18 Pa.C.S. § 912: Possession of weapon on school property
    (a) Definition.--Notwithstanding the definition of "weapon" in section 907 (relating to possessing instruments of crime), "weapon" for purposes of this section shall include but not be limited to any knife, cutting instrument, cutting tool, nunchuck stick, firearm, shotgun, rifle and any other tool, instrument or implement capable of inflicting serious bodily injury.
    (b) Offense defined.--A person commits a misdemeanor of the first degree if he possesses a weapon in the buildings of, on the grounds of, or in any conveyance providing transportation to or from any elementary or secondary publicly-funded educational institution, any elementary or secondary private school licensed by the Department of Education or any elementary or secondary parochial school.
    (c) Defense.--It shall be a defense that the weapon is possessed and used in conjunction with a lawful supervised school activity or course or is possessed for other lawful purpose.

Remember too, subsection 912 attaches to the buildings and grounds - not the activities. ...so if its a K-12 school, its a K-12 school every day of the week.

Not trying to be a smart ass, but as I know many who do this...I wonder about homeschooling... does your home then become the school?

No. In order to fit the conditions of 18 Pa.C.S. § 912 (Possession of weapon on school property), the weapon must be carried onto “any elementary or secondary publicly-funded educational institution, any elementary or secondary private school licensed by the Department of Education or any elementary or secondary parochial school.” A normal home-school situation is not a publicly-funded educational institution, nor is it a private school that is licensed by the Department of Education. Unless your family lives in a church for some strange reason, it isn’t parochial, either.
