Re: Painting A Kel Tec PF9 Chrome Slide
Not sure how it works...but I would think you could have it blued, parkerized, or even duracoated? Blued isn't quite black, but it'll be close? hehe, I'm not a gunsmith, but my blued gun looks pretty dark.

If it is chrome, not much is going to stick to it especially paint. You could have the chrome removed (can be done by someone that chromes things, just the reverse method) and then blued, parkerized or duracoated.

Re: Painting A Kel Tec PF9 Chrome Slide
Being that it is a Kel Tec , if it is in fact chrome it most likely isn't the best quality chrome job, have at it with some 320 sandpaper, you'll either remove it or scuff it up to the point so paint will stick..

Re: Painting A Kel Tec PF9 Chrome Slide
This is probably true. I would rough it up and have it duracoated flat black or something.
You could always post on KTOG to see if someone there wanted to trade slides? The chrome slide weapon is more expensive than the non. So the $ aspect would be in your favor.
I would try to get a parked slide instead of the blued one though. It looks nicer 'most' of the time.

Check out Goldenloki.com. He is an expert in all things Kel Tec and does frame and slide Duracoating for a very reasonable price. I've been thinking about getting a new color on my P32 for awhile. Check out the site and send him an email, see what he says.
Or you could always try to find some one to trade with. Try KTOG.com or even post on the classifieds here.Selling off a a sizeable Spyderco collection here

Im not sure but how about having it powdercoated? I'm no expert but I know as far as holding up to heat and wear powdercoating is tough to beat.

Re: Painting A Kel Tec PF9 Chrome Slide
I have tried over and over again and can not register on the ktog site sends me the email and when I click the link brings me to the site and says time has run out.
Called Kel Tec today can get a black slide for around $80. Does anyone know what it costs to have a slide duracoated. Unless any knows anyone who wants to trade slides.

Re: Painting A Kel Tec PF9 Chrome Slide
For $80 I'd just get a slide from KT. No duracoat is going to hold up like park or bluing.
