buying guns out of state
There is a sale coming up this weekend and I am a pa. resident and want to buy some guns at an auction in maryland, Is this possible to buy them at auction or not ?

If you are buying longarms you need to take possession from an FFL of any state.
If you are buying handguns you must take possession from a Pa FFL.
So yes, you can 'buy' them at auctions but must involve an FFL for the physical transfer of possession to you.Last edited by tl_3237; March 29th, 2010 at 09:43 PM.

The above is correct. The auctioneer should have a FFL (or have a FFL present to handle the gun sales) and they will take care of everything for you if you win the auction (doing the paperwork and background checks for the long guns or shipping to the PA FFL of your choice for the handguns). You will pay for everything upfront, just as if you were buying from the internet.
