State Park and conceal carry
Trout season opens Saturday for all the fisherman out there...I am from Philadelphia. I usually fish in Penny Pack Park. I have a conceal carry permit, I was wondering if I could carry my firearm in the park while I fish. It is penny Pack Park commission that runs the show. Pretty sure it is state funded. I could use a real knowledgeable answer if anyone could help on this situation. Thanks.

Re: State Park and conceal carry
Pennypack Park is part of the Fairmount Park system...owned by the City of Philadelphia...not a State Park. Concealed or Open carry with LTCF is permitted.

Re: State Park and conceal carry
Pennypack Park is part of Phila's Fairmount Park System.
If you plan on CC it doesn't matter if its state or city. CC with an LTCF is OK.
If you plan to OC then I'll have to dig further to assure that its city and not state owned. Let me know.

Re: State Park and conceal carry
The DCNR website of state parks in the Phila area DOES NOT show either Fairmount OR Pennypack - so its not a state park.
OC with an LTCF should be OK.

Re: State Park and conceal carry
Thanks guys...Just to get this straight though, State park prohibits the carrying of firearms? Also, it says it is illegal to OC in a city of the first class "Philadelphia." Would I still be okay?

Re: State Park and conceal carry
If you have an LTCF you can carry CC only in state parks.
An LTCF also entitles you to carry either OC or CC in Phila.
