Re: NFA-Hughes Amendment Repeal Possible?
No one here is against repealing this. A few of us just thought that we needed a better battle plan, like this thing being rewritten. And as far as some people not wanting to repeal the ban because of their guns being worthless....well, that just seems like a reasonable thing some people might be concerned about and might even be against.
I think we'd all like to see the hughes amendment gone.[account deactivated]

Re: NFA-Hughes Amendment Repeal Possible?
Absolutely. We want this illegally-passed law overturned.
But it's going to have to be a court fight, as no one on either side of the aisle will risk the public political capital of being "for machineguns" by pushing a bill to overtun it. (Just like the many CLEOs not wanting to be the one who "approved the machinegun" regardless of how ludicrous that truly is.)
As for NFA values falling if the ban were overturned; there was a time not all that long ago when the "Bowers creek-rats" were clamoring for everyone to take a 2nd-mortgage so as to buy what they wanted "as they ain't gettin cheaper".
Gotta wonder how many mortgage bailouts, foreclosures, etc, may have been rooted in someone's irresponsible spending on toys.
Honk if I'm paying your mortgage.
Those folks who overspent on NFA over the past decade or so WILL lose big if they indeed gossly over-paid for their Lightning Links, DIAS, and other toys - and suddenly the ban was overturned. All of my guns are lubed with BACON GREASE.

Re: NFA-Hughes Amendment Repeal Possible?
To anyone interested ive been doing alot of research on the current gun bans and the possible new ones I have looked at every law, restrictions on firearm arms also local state and federal laws, obligations ect I have come to realize every state in the united states are considered free states meaning they have the power to restrict any federal laws including bans in any state and that citizen can challenge there state reps to hold a vote from the citizens to allow or remove any enforcement on any federal law to that state pa dose not restrict the possession of any nfa firearms so there is no state or local hold backs not allowing them we as citizens of pa can the state to revoke the gun bans in pa the hughes amendment doesnt need repealed we need to challenge our state to to take a citizens vote to revoke the gun laws in pa

Re: NFA-Hughes Amendment Repeal Possible?
Now that's a sentence! As far as what I quoted, you are incorrect. PA prohibits all NFA items, with the chief defense having them NFA registered. Get rid of the NFA registry and our NFA items are toast in PA. With that, we still are not permitted by state law to have HE like grenades.

Re: NFA-Hughes Amendment Repeal Possible?
Generally speaking, you will find the occasional post that is incoherent, a few that are demonstrably factually incorrect, and some that seem like "that guy" in the 1960's revolutionary group who always seems to know a place to get dynamite, and he can get detailed blueprints to the ROTC building, and he keeps encouraging everybody to "stop talking and take some direct, violent action" (this guy is always the FBI plant.)
It's a rarity and a pleasure to see all of these elements in one, unique, incomprehensible and yet somehow legally incorrect post. Kudos, my man. Time once again to declare secession and fight the Bluebellies, from our safe haven here in the Keystone State, surrounded by New York and New Jersey and Maryland and Delaware......hmmmm...........Attorney Phil Kline, AKA gunlawyer001@gmail.com

Re: NFA-Hughes Amendment Repeal Possible?
Yes, maybe, but...
It has worked to some degree with legal 'ho houses, casino gambling. And we now have many states thumbing their noses at the Feds over reefer laws.
Until the Feds cut the purse strings.
No state is an island unto itself that can go it alone, watch and see how fast state .govs scream for fed disaster aid for the next big snowstorm... Recall the 55MPH limit; the Feds had it enforced by withholding valuable cash to states for their roads, etc.
All states are required to render unto Caesar what is Caesar's - your kid's blood in Asscrackfullofsand for the military industrial complex's profits, our tax dollars, our compliance with Fed laws.
When the Fed .gov decides to put the hammer down, it will come down, despite what Colorado or Montana or AZ or whoever do.All of my guns are lubed with BACON GREASE.

Re: NFA-Hughes Amendment Repeal Possible?
The only part I can find lacking in that statement is "your kid's blood". We don't have a draft. They volunteer. Why I dont know, but they do. I support them for it is a sacrifice and could be the ultimate. I am just sorry that we do not gain anything the politicos don't throw away. Elections have consequences.

Re: NFA-Hughes Amendment Repeal Possible?
Ideas have consequences that elections bring out. We keep trying to win elections, but we keep failing because we have taken little or no action to change the ideas. The idea that gun regulation like the 86 ban or NFA in total is just an idea like any other, it can be contested and changed. It has to be changed at the individual level through information and engagement before any voting or rallying or lobbying or campaign donation can achieve anything. Our side was silent from 1934 till into the early 2000's while the other worked on spreading their ideas and reinforcing them as the norm--the result we have is by no other means than that.
