Default Insight on the Taurus 24/7 Pro .40

I'm still searching for another CCW. I am a fan of Taurus and like the Millenium Pro PT 140, but for a little more money I can go to the 24/7 Pro with a 3.3 inch barrel in the .40. It also has a 15+1 capacity which is hard to beat. I see Buds has it delivered for $379. I also am looking at the S&W Sigma 40 but am leaning toward the Taurus.

Any feedback on this, esecially the 24/7 would be great!

    thanks!

The 3.3" barrel is on the 24/7 Pro Compact.
The 24/7 and Sigma both have a 4" barrel.

I'd go for the 24/7 Compact over the Millenium Pro.

I think the 24/7 and Sigma are cousins once removed. I carry a 24/7 and have shot a Sigma. They feel very very similar in my hand. I prefer the 24/7 over the Sigma because of the trigger pull and it being a SA/DA.
The only complaint I've really ever heard about the Sigma was the trigger pull. But if you're comfortable with a heavy trigger in a gun with no safety, that's not a bad thing.

I don't have any complaints with my 24/7. It's comfy in my hand, pretty darn accurate, and when I pull the trigger it goes bang every time.

I had a 24/7 Pro Compact in .40 as a CCW piece for appox a year. It took some "breaking in" and I had a about 7 FTE's in the first 200 or so rounds. After that, though, it was reliable and was very accurate at SD distances. I carried it in a Don Hume OWB holster and it concealed very well. The double strike capability was only used once on a WWB round and it worked. Overall, a great gun for the money.

The bad? I though the trigger feel was horrible. But, if that dosen't bother you, you'll be fine. I ended up trading it for a Glock 23. A few pop up on taurusarmed. net used if your looking to go that road. Good luck.
