Best Rx for the Fever: Buy it - Sig Sauer P229 Elite

First, for those in the Bucks/Montgomery county area, I have to say, that my experience (first time I was there) with Tanner's Sport Center was outstanding. To be honest, I almost hoped they didn't have the P229 Elite , but, their selection is great, they had one, and they beat Cabela's price by approx 10%. So, I think (for now), this completes the collection.

The 229 is available in 9mm and .40 S&W. I went with the .40.

Yeah, as far as completion of the collection goes, only time will tell, but at the moment, I feel like I'm done. Yeah . . .

That's gonna drive me nuts, so I called Sig Sauer, and they're shipping me out a pair of replacement grips. No hassle at all (other than a bit of hold time). Figures the range is closed today, on the day I have off, but I can't wait to take this out. But, in the hand, the beaver tail, weight, and grip width, make it feel great.

Don't feel bad about the tooling marks. When I bought my 220 Elite I couldn't get that damn tape off the handle. So I slid in an exacto knife sideways to try and turn it up to cut it and I dug into my grips with like an 1/8th in. score.

I was so pissed.

Enjoy the gun. I would like to get a 226 or a 228 and dress it to match my 220.

Congrats. I have 229 Elite and I bought it at Tanners as well. Bought mine about a year ago and still love it.
