Default .357 Snub Takes its Toll

I had fun tonight, I am sure if you asked my hand it would tell you otherwise

A day at the range qualifying with my old Colt Agent would do the same thing to my hand.

The punch line to the first two posts is the same as to the old joke of:

Question: "Do you smoke after sex?"

    Answer: "Yes".

Rejoinder: "Well, perhaps you are doing it too fast."

Seriously, you must not be doing something right. I shoot Smith & Wessons, and I can spend a day at the range and pound hundreds of rounds downrange and not end up looking like that! What were you doing? (Notice I highlited in blood red?)

    Flash

I'll bet that the edge of the thumb-knuckle was the cylinder-latch?

The old model Colt Agent is a small framed gun witn not a lot of room left for hand and fingers. Cuts come from the hammer-frame pinch. When you're qualifying its against the clock. No time to slow down.

Yes, the divot taken out of my thumb is the cylinder latch. The webbing tore after about 20-30 shots. Slow at first, then it continued to peel up. It is the top couple of layers of the skin, not a gash style going deep. Like when a blister pushes open.

Mine was the old model Colt Agent. They apparently corrected this with the newer DA only model.

Ouch! I'm with flash, your hand shouldn't look like that. How was your grip? Were you holding it too loosely maybe?

I hate shooting .357s out of my S&W J frame. In fact, I'd rather shoot my 4" barrel S&W 500 mag with my heavy loads than the J frame with 357s... but I've never torn my hand up like that from shooting them.

You're more of a man then me though... I would have stopped before the blood started pouring.
loose≠lose; you're=you are; 'your' shows possession.

I don't think it is my grip. I would blame dry hands and the recoil. Either way.. I think it is more comical than anything. This thing is one angry little bastard
