McKeesport's Lost or Stolen effort
McKeesport resident & Others, should show up at the city council meeting. April 7,2010 at 7 p.m. In the public safety building. In the council chambers.201 Lysle Blvd.
One of the new members is pushing for Lost or Stolen.
Be easier to shut this L&S effort down before it gets started, the city really doesn't have the extra tax payers money to waste on do nothing L&S Ordinance that several other cities, twp, borough's have REFUSED to support when they studied the issue.
Currently looking for contact information of McKeesport council if someone can get it please post.
Here is the McKeesport "official" web site seems to be a work in progress

Re: McKeesport's Lost or Stolen effort
I have sent an inquiry for names of the city council and their contact information.
I also sent an E-mail to MY CITY mayor James Brewster to see what his take is on this. Can't call while at work really.
I will be there on the 7th. I was at the West Mifflin meeting and was disgusted with the predetermined vote feeling from their city council.
The City Manager and Solicitor are listed on the Contact Us page as well as the Mayor - but E-mails only. If I have to go to the City Council building to obtain this public record information I will. I drive by everyday on my way to work.FNX-9 Two-tone

Re: McKeesport's Lost or Stolen effort
I will make an attempt to attend.
It's only a matter of time before something like this is proposed where YOU and I live, so although I'm not a McKeesport resident, I'm willing to support my gun owning neighbors.I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

Re: McKeesport's Lost or Stolen effort
I got a reply from the Mayor today. Doesn't seem like they plan on presenting this to the council - or at least not to the knowledge of the mayor.
E-mail I sent to the Mayor
________________
Mayor Brewster,
I have heard that McKeesport City Council is possibly considering a Lost and Stolen Firearms Ordinance being pushed by CeaseFire PA and the Brady Campaign and Mayors Against Illegal Guns.
Is there any truth to this?
Do you know when this will brought up before the McKeesport City Council?
I have been to the McKeesport website and the information on City Council is not all completed yet. I have sent a submission via the Contact Us page on the website to try and find out the names and contact information for the council.
Thank you for you time,
Ryan

Re: McKeesport's Lost or Stolen effort
Sure seems that way, sadly. Maybe if we could allow cat picture posting threads in this section people might stumble across some thread title may catch their attention and read about the problems.....
Anyway just a thought to get people to start paying attention to doing something constructive to protect their rights for a change.......instead of just complaining about how they are taken by their silent consent
Well... that is just until a stupid poorly worded section on the UFA affects them personally then it’s a real problem and someone must come save them.
Spending pennies and a little time being proactive protecting everyone rights, sure beats spend many thousands in court cost from not caring what laws are written governing guns
