Re: New Public Range in Danger of Close?
Did anyone stop by the township building to see the plans? I'm told from someone who has seen the plans that the range will have something for every type of shooter.

Re: New Public Range in Danger of Close?
I finally went down to the Township and got a look at the plans and took some notes on the ranges.
Send me a private message if you want to know anything.

Re: New Public Range in Danger of Close?
I just got word that there will be a Planning Commission meeting at Ransom Town Hall on Hickory Lane this Monday at 7:00PM. Not sure if the range is on the agenda, but it is an open meeting.

Re: New Public Range in Danger of Close?
From what I am told, you guessed wrong.
The township engineer gave the developer a letter with lots of comments and questions some of which I am told are illegal and outside of his authority for him to ask. It appears the engineer asks for things without consulting the township attorney.
Developer told me to expect the Township to get sued for a whole lot of $ if they deny him his application.

Re: New Public Range in Danger of Close?
Interesting. These Township-folk typically try to get a "few extras" whenever a new project comes in. Some may call it "extortion" and some may call it the "cost of doing business," particularly when a developer is asking for a lot of variances or has a controversial project.
I guess it just depends on what side of the fence you are on. If I were the developer's attorney, I'd advise him to watch the hyperbole... be the bigger man and win approval for the project.Last edited by CL3; September 9th, 2012 at 09:06 AM.

Re: New Public Range in Danger of Close?
Here's the latest. http://theabingtonjournal.com/storie...b_type=stories
The developer gave the Township comments on the engineer's letter. The document was about 33 pages long! Just shows how they want to red tape this project.

Re: New Public Range in Danger of Close?
The developer of the range looks to be in this for the long run and will take the township to court if needed, I think we will have a gun range here sooner rather than later.
