Noob question about canted front sights
Hey guys,
I know I will catch some sh*t for asking a noob question, especially about an AK, but Ive done a lot of searching and can't find anything definite on the issue.
How can I tell if my AK has as canted front sight? Is there any method or measurement I can take to precisely tell how strait my front sight is?
Any input is appreciated

Re: Noob question about canted front sights
I too am a fellow noob and what ive heard from older and more experienced "operators" in the forum you adjust the sights to compensate for the cant of the sights.K var makes this nice sight adjustment tool that is gauged and stuff for precise adjustments of the sights. (if you could ever call an ak precise)
other than that I dont know what to tell ya man.Good luck
Happy shootingGott mit uns

Re: Noob question about canted front sights
If it's canted front sights - not in verticle true with the muzzle - it can be fixed at home relatively easy. (Editorial warning: Which is the cool thing about an AK; imagine taking a BFH and pin-punch to a Browning!)
Here is a Romy-specific site that identifies cant and how to fix. Note that cant is common to many AKs, not just Romy WASRs.

Scroll down the page and on the left is the link to fix cant.

Re: Noob question about canted front sights
Nice! The links are very helpful, thanks. It looks like my Bulgy AK-74 has a slight cant of the front sight block, to the left.
I will post a full report after I get a chance to shoot it and order the sight adjustment tool.

Ah-ha! There is is! It *was* on gunsnet.net.
There's been some discussion on front sight and gas block alignment already, here are a few threads for your consideration:
Gloria: "65 percent of the people murdered in the last 10 years were killed by hand guns"
Archie Bunker: "would it make you feel better, little girl, if they was pushed outta windows?"

well if it says "Century Arms" or "CAI" anywhere on the rifle, then the sights are canted.
