Re: Going shooting 1st weekend in April
Wish I could have made it but I was in Pittsburgh over the weekend. I could possibly go during the week depending on the time. I work till 4 mon-fri in Johnstown so it's not far. Like I said before I need to find somewhere around I can go and/or join so I have a place.

Re: Going shooting 1st weekend in April
Just wondering about Daisytown... what info can you give on it?
I need a place to go, but am not sure about "clubs". Do they require their members to do "chore days" throughout the year as part of membership? (some places do)
What is their fee? Hours available etc??
Any info you guys can share would be great...Thanks!

Re: Going shooting 1st weekend in April
Daisytown's dues are 25.00 a year and all work activities are voluntary but will count towards active membership (voting and office holding privileges ) vs social membership .
Meetings held 3rd Monday of the month 8 PM . Club is open Sunday 12 noon to 4 PM and Tuesday 5 PM to ? for trap practice ( open to the public ) .DAN

Re: Going shooting 1st weekend in April
Each club has their own rules and requirements for members. The club I just got into has no work requirements, but does encourage members to help out. Clu dues pays for all outdoor range use through the years, they have a small fee for the indoor range to help maintain the building.
You will have to check into the club and see what they require. I didn't even have to attend a meeting to be voted on because I work afternoons.

It still has dues of $25.00, they used to require that you had an NRA membership, but they helped me get mine for $10.00 (non magazine membership). Everyone was very nice, and it seems like a nice location.
These are the times that try men's souls: The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value. Thomas Paine 1776
