Re: Close call last night
It's okay to call black people 'black.' Assuming someone is an African American is silly.
Two, does your girlfriend not know you have a gun? That could've been a hectic situation with a girlfriend who had no idea what to expect.
And three, glad to hear everyone made it out okay

Re: Close call last night
It has been a learning experience, keep one in the chamber and keep it on me. yes the doors were locked, and i was more than ready to drive thru a redlight but the thing that got me was the complete un preparedness of the situation, i know thats the end of the hill district and thats no place for me or my girl but it really wasn;t by choice to end up there. she knows its there, just she wasn't prepared for me to just reach over and grab it. thanks for all your input.

Re: Close call last night
Okay, someone edited their post from the time I got the email to the time I got here!
Someone said 'training'? Well to that I say BULLSHIT!
Training has nothing to do with it ... it is called 'common sense'!
1. You do NOT 'fumble around' with a weapon in a car (dark or not)
2. If you think you can pull a weapon out of some 'orifice' of your car, rack the slide and expect to beat the 'bad guy' you are, plain and simple, fucked
3. Thinking an empty chamber is safer than one 'in the chamber' and at your disposal is a deadly mistake ... and you only make that mistake ONCE!
Time to grow up and realize if you REALLY want to protect 'life and limb' ... 'family and friends' it's time to start carrying properly! When seconds count a CLEAR head and a well placed weapon mean everything!
But I still have to say the OP over-reacted BIG TIME!

Re: Close call last night
I fail to see the close call other than possibly injuring yourself or your passenger.
If your first instinct in this situation is to react as you did perhaps it was good that your gun was unloaded in a glove box.FUCK BIDEN

Re: Close call last night
I will say this. I generally hate "Close Call" threads. The "close calls" are very subjective. Secondly, I see no point in posting about them. Third, many times the poster embelishes the story to appear tactically sound. Lastly, they end up being bashing sessions.

Re: Close call last night
I have a few questions, as some of the other members have already mentioned.
Why was the gun not loaded?
Why was it in the glove compartment?
Also, how did you know this guy was from Africa? He's black, just like i'm white. Let's cut this politically correct bullshit.

Re: Close call last night
I'd say if the orig. writer learned something from all these post then its good he wrote it. I agree at the weakness of the "Close Call" but, well whatever. And, yeah, bashing sessions are not cool. If the post was worthless then so many should not have replied. However I'm guessing somebody is going to have a more educated approach to "Close Calls" and that is a good thing.

Re: Close call last night
Don't know who brought this thread back to life BUT this was no more a 'close call' than the man in the moon!
This was someone over-reacting and at the same time handling a weapon in an unsafe manner.
Figure out life and figure out what requires pulling a weapon and what doesn't!
The OP (sorry to say) is one GIANT fail! ... Sorry but truth is truth
