I would look on gunbroker.com and look for comparables and that will give you a good understanding on the market price and the demand for the gun. Budsgunshop.com will also take trades and is easy to contact and they are quick to respond.

i have been on gunbroker.com, they have the same models, but they dont have this limites edition one on there, so i don know wat exactly it is worth, but there were only 500 of these made, so im guessing it should be worth more than the regular model. but i will definatly go on that other site and chec it out.
    thanks for the advice.

the ihea is selling them for $500....as in still selling them.

a standard golden boy is at least a 100 bucks less than that.
most people that buy them, want to shoot them.....are a few computer drawn carving worth the extra hundred?

i would not count on getting 500 for it in either cash or credit.
henry is pretty lenient about what kind of commemoratives they do.
    limited? yes. special? no.
my shop has been selling limited edition lebanon county golden boys, they have carvings of the local landmarks and important dates on them.
the county historical society commissioned them, as a fund raiser.

not trying to be an ass, just presenting the facts, and my tact outlet is broken.

I just found the price it is selling at right now for $499 so my guess would be that you would be better off trying to sell private(online or ftf) to get the most for the gun. You could sell it on gun broker with a reserve and could make up a little of loss with an inflated shipping fee.(we all know this is happening) Put it on for 450 reserve and that is pretty close to an xd .40. Hope this helps......only gun i won was a savage 64f .22, sold it to my dad for $100

That is not a collector gun, sorry, but it's not. It is a special run.

For example, there are thousands upon thousands of Winchester state commemoratives out there and even new in the box, they are dogs to get rid of and if they do sell, the price they go for is comparable to a standard gun.

A serious collector wants one-offs and scarce guns, not a mass produced gun with some fancy scribbles on it.

If the gun was for some nationally known organization, Boy Scouts, NRA, ect.., then there might be a tad bit more interest in it from members of those organizations, but honestly, I have never heard of the IHEA, and doubt many others have either.

Since you won it, I always figure what I paid for the ticket + any money spent at the raffle is what I have in a gun I win, so anything over that I can get towards trade or selling outright is profit. I would try selling it for what a standard Golden Boy sells for, otherwise, you might as well just stick it in the closet and hang onto it.
