Cobray M11/9 kit - legal questions
Hi guys, I'm new here, searche around a bit & didn't find the relevant info.
Here's my situation: I know of a Cobray M11/9 for sale that was never finished. I can finish the small machine work no problem, but it has no serial #, and the owner never did (any) paperwork on it, "because it was never finished, it's just a metal paperweight until it's finished". That's neithe here or there, it is what it is. Firearm is 15ish years old, so I can forget about any receipts or anything. The Cobray logo & name appears on the frame but other than that, no markings.
Could I purchase this thing and get through the paperwork with it?
Thanks!

Re: Cobray M11/9 kit - legal questions
as a avg joe, meaning NOT a 02/07 SOT
if you mean as a machine gun, no
if you mean finish it as a pistol, yes
if you mean finish it as a "short barrel rifle" on a form 1, yes.
if you mean making an open bolt firearm of any kind, no.
as a SOT:
if you mean as a machine gun, yes
if you mean finish it as a pistol, yes
if you mean finish it as a "short barrel rifle", yes.
if you mean making an open bolt firearm (machine gun only) yes."Oderint Dum Metuant" - BMFH
