    Default Serpa poll

Which do you use more often with your Serpa, the paddle setup or the belt loops?

paddle made the serpa a fast on and off holster. For retention purposes, you couldn't yank the gun out of the holster, but you could yank the holster off the belt.

I don't carry in those things anymore anyway.

Really? I find it quite difficult to remove the holster at the end of the day unless I twist it "just so". Those claws dig into the seam on the jeans and does not let go.

Maybe different pants wouldn't give it something to grip onto?

That said, I'm less of a fan of the SERPA than I once was.

I tried the belt loops once and didn't like it, so I switched to the paddle which I think is much more comfortable, and a lot easier to take off at the end of the day.

That happens to me as well. I loosen my belt and reach my finger in there where the claw is to prevent it from getting caught, and it usually comes right off.

I use a Serpa when I don't need deep concealment, and I find the same thing. The hook on the bottom of the paddle really grabs on to my pants, making it difficult to just yank off.

I also use the two little hooks that came with it to hold onto my belt.

I just got my Serpa a few weeks ago so I'm still trying both options, although I lean towards using the belt loops more often.

The paddle is a pain in the butt to take off because of that extra claw, I have to actually undo my pants to get the paddle out. The belt loops, well, just the belt needs undone.

I like the belt. The paddle is not comfortable on me. I just got an E-mail back from them that a S&W 5900 Holster will fit my 6906. Just ordered one for OC. I have their shoulder rig that the holster screws onto also. I will have one for all my pistols and revolvers now.
