1911 thumb safety

I put a new extended release thumb safety on my RIA 1911. The safety engages every now and then when I rack the slide ?? Not all the time, maybe every third time or so. Any thoughts ? Could I have worn down the little dimple that the pin sits in when I was dremeling them a bit to fit ? Could it be someting inside on the pin that goes into the drip area ?

i just took the thumb safety off again and drilled the dimple a little deeper, and I haven't been able to get the safety to jump and engage after racking the slide - maybe i fixed it ? i'm fairly new to 1911's and have never done any work so i'm learning as i go - lol. i bought this RIA so i can play, and if i break something, no bit $ loss. i was afraid to put a new trigger in, but now that i really look at it, it seems pretty easy ! that will probably be next w/e project
