    Default Disassembly, FEG model GKK-45

Can anyone offer disassembly instructions for a .45ACP FEG model GKK-45 (imported by KBI)? Thanks in advance. NOLA

Are you asking how to field strip or detail strip the pistol?

    Dear Ed,
Thanks in advance for any assistance on this matter.
I am puzzled on how to position the slide-latch for disassembly of slide from frame.
I believe the pistol's outward design features most resemble the S&W 5906 which calls for aligning the slide-latch pivot with the latch notch in the slide but I don't want to force anything by experimenting with the disassembly position this very stiff side latch. NOLA

If you go to this web site at the last post there is the manual.

Just save it to a temp folder and extract it and you should be good to go.

As always, virus scan any downloads before you extract them....

    NOLA:

I responded in the "Pistols" subforum:

    NOLA:

The FEG GKK-45 is a large double-action single-stack handgun that is very similar internally to S&W and Ruger semi-autos. It has a slide-mounted safety.

The general disassembly goes as follows:

    1) Remove the magazine and rack the slide ensuring the chamber is empty.

    2) Put the safe "ON". (Tilted down)

    3) Retract the slide and engage the slide stop in the notch.

    4) From the right side of the hangun, push the slide stop pin to start it coming out of the left side. You may have to hold the slide back to take some of the force of the slide off of the slide stop.

    5) Once the slide stop is started out, pull it out the rest of the way with your fingers.

    6) Slide the slide/barrel assembly forward off the frame.

    7) CAUTION: With the slide assembly upside-down on the bench or table and using care to control the recoil spring and guide assembly, partially compress the recoil spring by pushing forward a bit on the guide flange and remove the spring/guide assembly from in front of the recoil lug. Set aside.

    8) To remove the barrel, tilt the chamber end upward and remove toward the rear of the slide.

    Disassembly is in reverse.

    HTH,

    Noah

    Gold Cup,
Thanks for your timely assistance. This disassembly was a real puzzle and the manual really came in handy for this obscure firearm. NOLA
