Default Broken Spikes Tactical 22 conversion

Anybody have a Spike's Tactical 22lr conversion firing pin break? I do shoot mine on full auto regularly and did not know if this is a typical problem. It broke at the point where it transitions from round to the slotted end which strikes the case. I discovered it due to non-fire and saw that the pin was rotating each time I cleared and checked the system. It was also striking the very edge of the case.

I used to read the Spike's vendor subforum on ar-15.com and checking the firing pin for breakage was one of the troubleshooting measures. Don't remember anybody saying theirs broke, but it seems implied that it happens. I also shoot mine FA with thousands of rounds through it and hasn't happened.

If you call and complain they might send you a free one. Or you could buy a replacement.

I know this could be in another forum but my OP was here. This is the email response from Tom @ Spike's about their coverage on the broken firing pin. As you can see, they stand behind their products and I think they should be recognized for that service.

Sorry that your firing pin broke, sometimes that happens with Rim fires especially if you dry fire them. Luckily we have a Lifetime Warranty. :-)

Ill fwd this to Sarah and she will send you a replacement, she might need your address though.

    Good for you!

And good for Spike's to stand behind their product.

    They do.

I over-filed my auto-trip after asking them for guidance on the procedure. They sent me a new one, free of charge, and it was perfect out of the box. No filing needed. $30 part. When I was troubleshooting they also sent me free balls and springs for the detent after I lost a spring.
