hi point c9 jamming
Hi,
I would like to sand and polish the slide on my hi point c9, but worried I won't be able to reassemble after the fact. Does any know of a gunsmith near king of prussia that would be fair on price for this? I know it's simple, but do not want to punch out pin and worry about reassemble. I like my c9, except for the jams.
Thanks,
Adam

Re: hi point c9 jamming
Have you tried a different mag and different ammo? That would be a good place to start with a jam issue. If you still have problems with different mags and ammo, then you may have a problem with the gun.
I think Hi Point offers a lifetime warranty on their products. Contact them, they may fix it for free.
edit- yep, lifetime warranty. If you are first owner or fifth owner, no different. http://www.hi-pointfirearms.com/Last edited by smithwessn; March 14th, 2010 at 04:34 PM.

2 diff mags, all kinds of ammo. I know the warrenty well, I have also seen the you tube take down videos! They make it look real easy! I know its the slide, read alot of threads etc... Just dont want to not be able to put it back together, I don't want to ruin it. Even if I send it back they wont sand the slide.

Re: hi point c9 jamming
I'm glad I listened to a friend and decided against a Hi Point. I hear great things about them, but with the great things I hear a lot more bad. One is how often they jam. Keep trying dif ammo, maybe you will find one that works better. But, sending it back for a look would more than likely be the best start. Maybe you got one of their "problem child" guns.

Re: hi point c9 jamming
I tried different ammo at first, then I bought 1000 rnds of federal eagle, and am having the most problems with it. I might try to sand the ramp without taking the slide off, just don't have a real clear path that way. The gun shoots nice, just jams too often. I would still buy again, it's alloud me to get back into shooting at low expense!

Re: hi point c9 jamming
My C9 uses Wally World Winchester White Box stuff. Inexpensive, and it works; hollow point or full metal jacket. No problems with mine. Never had any problems taking it apart and putting it back together again, either, but that's me (and everyone is different - my brother in-law can't even figure out which end of a screwdriver to hold).
