Fired 100 rnds at the range, only had 1 jam. Gun is much improved. I'm happy. Was worth sending it back to Hi point.

Those Hi-points are hit and miss. My brothers was having all kinds of problems. First it started jamming. Next the clip wouldn't stay in the gun. And at last, the whole front of the slide blew off due to a "bubble in the alloy" as Hi-point put it. His is a nightmare, but I have heard good things from other people. Good thing is Hi-Points warranty though. They gave my brother a brand new C9 and transplanted the S/N onto it.

Methinks fingers skipped his meds today...

My wife's .380 never liked the Federal red box stuff; I never had a problem with it.

Hi Points are cheap enough to be worth a little extra hassle. I just bought a brand new Taurus P1911 and that has to go back because of a faulty slide-stop. Any new or old gun can have a problem. I am more irritated when a $550 gun has a problem then I am when a $160 gun has a problem. My revolvers never have a problem

Thanks again for the replies. I have yet to have a misfire or jam with my Taurus 94 revolver, but in home defense situation would still go to the c9 with 6-7 (not full 8)in the clip. I feel I am getting my money's worth with the c9, it's primary function is to be a range gun, and now works well for that. Like I said, for home self defense, leaving one or two less in the clip or magizine (which ever your prefer to say), I'm confident it will fire just fine.
