This video will show how to install the dust cover without removing the barrel. I think it starts right around three minute mark.

Girlfriend said she wants to shoot more. Perfect opportunity to build a light weight that i've been wanting to do.
Had been talking with NathanB about some parts a few months back.
I had most of the parts laying around minus the BGC and barrel.

    standard Aero Prec upper/lower
BCM 16" light weight fluted mid-length gas
    Fail Zero light weight carrier
    SLR 10.75" Ion rail
    SLR adj block (inbound)
    Magpul CTR
    Magpul K+
ALG single stage combat trigger (for now)
    JP polished buffer spring
    Stock carbine buffer for now
Will be playing with gutting the buffer of weights or going to Taccom or KAK buffer

With the gas block and tube missing along with a muzzle device, and sights of some fashion (irons or red dot), my crummy shipping scale says 5lb on the nose.
I cant see it clearing 6 when the final parts are added. Plus changing out buffer may drop it a few oz here or there.

I could not justify the cost of the light weight uppers and lowers for a ounces of reduction.
Has anyone gone balls deep with those and can you see the difference?

Thanks Gentlemen - you guys are the best. Very easy

With the dust cover on and a black vs red magazine I like it much better. May keep it this way for a bit :

LOVE the flag treatment. Hydrodipped or Cerakote?

definitely looks better with the black mag in it, now it just needs a different stock or different hand guard to make it match better in my opionion the stock and hand guard just dont look right together

Cerakote from manufacturer Aero Precision. They like to put out different designs from time to time. Nice but not the most durable, already out a few small spots where finish has come off of it

Agreed. At some point I’ll probably change out the hand guard seeing I like the stock. Thanks.
