I contacted three places regarding their stainless barrels.

So far only one reply - JSE Surplus. ($145 with no gas block)
I asked what type of finish it had - "raw/brushed", bead blasted, or polished.
It looks somewhat shiny in the pic, but unlikely polished and I just wanted to be certain.

    Their prompt reply...
It is not bead blasted, it's an "as turned" finish from the mfg. It can
be polished pretty easily if you are wanting a high gloss finish. You
can do it with very fine sand paper.

I also ran across an Odin Works barrel at AIM where I forgot to check before.
More pricey at $256.50, but a reputable name as I understand it. Also includes gas block and free shipping, so it's not outrageous.

Looks beautiful even if it's not technically polished.

I would think using something like Simichrome polish or blue magic ( http://www.simichromepolish.com/ ) would shine that up nice.. could at least test it on a spot that would be covered by the hand guard ...

LOL! I see what you did there! ^^^

Nice rifle! I love those straight twenty rounders. I keep one in my "go to" house gun - less clunky like that.
I should get more of them.

I was expecting something a little more harsh.

Thanks, and I do like the 20 rounders. Especially on the bench or even when going prone.

I got the perfect gas block I'm going to be selling. It's a brand new Geissele stainless steel gas block.

    I'm all ears! LOL
Maybe I can get the cheaper SS barrel, your gas block, polish the barrel myself, and save some money!
