    Default AR57 Pistol Finalized

Some of you may recall that I got the AR57 pistol upper a while ago. I decided to make it look nicer and add some colors to it. It started out with 2-tone with a new FDE MOE grip and FDE XTM modular panels from Magpul, but didn't quite look right with the clear magazine, so I added a couple OD XTM panels. The was no way to get any foam tube any other color than black, so I purchased some paracords. I used the FDE first, but the paracord was too bright and looked off, so I went with the OD paracord. I also tried the desert camo, but that didn't look right either.

I sawed off the top of a 20-rd Lancer mag to use as a brass catcher, balance out the clear PS90 mag, and improve overall look. I went with the 20-rd instead of the 30 because I like the look of the 20 better. The rear FDE MBUS arrived today to complete the MBUS set. Here is the result:

And here she is next to the real 5.7x28mm :

Wow. Is that a real can on the PS90? Cool.

I want the 5.7 upper but the ammo is too expensive.

Nope, just a fake CMMG Gemtech to cover the long ugly barrel. The SS197SR (VMAX tip) runs around $18/box of 50, but the SS195LF, which is the one that the AR57 feeds reliably, can be up to $10 more per box. If you shoot the PS90, it's actually a little cheaper than buying brass .223.

It still looks badass. I like the locking ring.

I have to purchase my .223 judiciously. My brass plinking ammo is PMC and XM193 and I pay $300 to $325. Haven't seen 5.7 cheaper than that.

Yeah, I only take these out on special occasions because of ammo cost. I feed mostly Wolf through my AR's.

The fake can is pretty neat. You just need to rotate it 1/4 of a turn and it pops right out if you don't want to have it on while shooting.
