    Default Polymer frame questions

So, as I have mentioned in another thread, I picked up a used HK usp compact. Another issue that it had, other than the mag, was that there was a gash on the grip area of the polymer frame. It is about 1.5 mm deep and 3-4 mm wide. Its on the grip where the right side and front side meet.
    1) Can that be refinished/fixed at all?
    2) Can that affect performance? I've read about and seen some vids of HK polymer frames cracking.
    Thanks!

I don't know about refinishing. I really doubt a gash will cause a crack on today's polymer frames. If you are that concerned, I'd call HK. Personally, I would lose no sleep over it.
