Local gun raffle

Saw this in 'The Valley Advantage' insert in the fishwrap today. Their selling 250 tickets and giving away five guns for a 1:25 chance, not bad odds. First time I've ever seen a "gun raffle", usually it a quilt or some other "girly thing".

Gun Raffle
Meredith Hose Co., 100 Main St., Childs, will hold a gun raffle Saturday, March 20, 5-9 p.m. Winners have can choose to receive the gun or a cash prize. First prize is a Ruger (caliber of choice) or $500; second prize is Browning BPS hunter 12-gauge or $400. Third prize is a Mossberg 535 12-gauge 3 1/2 or $300. Fourth prize is Charles Daly maxi-mag 12-gauge 3 1/2 or $250. Fifth prize is a Marlin XL 7 bolt 25.06 or $250. Tickets are $20; only 250 tickets will be sold. Food and refreshments are included.

If this is new to you check in the Fall when the Irem Country Club in Dallas Pa. holds it's annual 100 gun Raffle. Tickets are $20.00 and a number is drawn every 3 minutes.

I believe this is happening right now.. Just got a ticket from a friend for $20. Had a few friends win some stuff last year too!
